Miss Kennedy has had a passion for dance and gymnastics from a very young age. Miss Kennedy started dance at age 3 and gymnastics at age 4. She trained in gymnastics for 8 years, 2 of those years competitively. At the age of 13 Miss Kennedy decided to solely focus on dance. Miss Kennedy started in competitive dance, training in all styles, at the age of 10 and competed until she graduated high school. She then competed at the university level with Brock Dance Competitive Team for 3 years, which then transitioned to Badgers Dance Pak Varsity Team. She competed with the Dance Pak for 2 years.
Miss Kennedy has had some very unique experiences in the dance world. At the age of 10 she was invited to be a member of Team Canada and compete at the IDO world dance competitions with a Jazz Duet. She received a Gold medal. At the age of 14, she was given the opportunity to complete with Team Canada again but this time with her Dance Studio. They received a Gold medal for their Production of Jungle Book. At the age of 16 Miss Kennedy tried out for Team Canada again, this time for Tap dance. She was invited to be a part of a Tap Formation and Tap Production and compete at the IDO world dance competition in Germany. The team received a Silver and Bronze Medal.
Miss Kennedy has trained in all styles including: Acro, Tumbling, Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip- Hop, and Modern. Miss Kennedy has taken many workshop and master classes. She is fully certified in First Aid and CPR. She is a certified acro teacher and holds her module 3 Acrobatic Arts certificate. She also has completed Module 1 of Progressing Ballet Technique, holds a Progressing Contemporary Technique Certificate, has completed Module 2 of International Dance Teacher Standards, and has a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Studies and a Bachelor of Education.
Miss Kennedy has been a dance instructor/choreographer at EDC Dancers Inc./Expressions Dance Company since 2011. She started choreographing at the young age of 17. She has won many choreography awards over the years. In 2018 she took over as the Owner/Director and has created the Expressions Dance Company you know and love today! Always known for her bright smile and energetic attitude, Miss Kennedy wants to share her love and passion for dance by teaching others and bringing out the best in them. It has always been Kennedy’s dream to teach others and to own a dance studio! Thank you for choosing us and keeping Miss Kennedy’s dream alive!
