Miss Justine began her dance training at the age of 4 and shortly after danced competitively until she graduated from high school in 2011. She trained in a variety of styles such as jazz, tap, lyrical, ballet, and hip hop. While dancing competitively, she also had the chance to participate in many different conventions and national competitions where she learned from famous choreographers from all over Canada and the United States. In 2010, her last year of dancing with her studio, she also began her teaching career.
After graduating high school she went to Brock University where she joined the competitive Brock Dance Team. Her second year at Brock University took her passion for dance to the next level. Miss Justine choreographed her first group for the school. By her final year at Brock, Miss Justine not only continued to choreograph and compete with the varsity-level team, but she was also on its executive board as the Vice President of Communication and ran the team’s social media accounts. Miss Justine graduated from Brock University in 2015 with a Honours Bachelor of Arts in Popular Culture.
Also while in university, Miss Justine began choreographing competitive routines for the studio she was working at and has been doing so ever since. Miss Justine joined the Expressions Dance Company teaching staff in 2018, the first season of the studio under the direction of Miss Kennedy.
Since teaching at Expressions Dance Company, Miss Justine has continuously showed her passion for dance and teaching to the students. This is shown in her placing in the top 3 for Dance Instructors in the Grimsby/Lincoln News readers choice awards in 2022, 2023 and 2024. She has also won numerous choreography and overall awards for her choreography with Expressions Dance Company’s competitive team.
Miss Justine is also in the process of receiving her Adapt Syllabus Certification after attending the year 1 course of the “Teacher Training School” 2 year program. She is looking forward to implementing everything she has, and will learn in this course, in the classroom.
