Melissa began dancing at the young age of 3 and began dancing competitively at the age of 6. She trained in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Acro, Lyrical, & Hip Hop. She developed a passion for ballet and received all of her Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) graded syllabus certifications when she began training with Betty Love. As a competitive dancer, she was 1st runner up in the Petite Miss Dance of Canada Pageant and won the Mrs. & Mrs. Arthur Ash award for ballet training. Melissa was also a cheerleader for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats cheer team and participated in many Grey Cup half time shows.
At the young age of 19, Melissa was provided the opportunity to become the Director/Owner of a growing dance studio in Dundas. She owned and operated “Gotta Dance?!” for six years and trained many successful competitive dancers. Her dancers won numerous competitions in Canada and the U.S. and some have continued and began their own careers in dance.
Melissa took a break from the dance world to have her children, but knew her passion and love of dance would one day take her back. Along with her background in dance, she is currently in her final semester at Durham College to receive her ECE diploma, and she recently became a certified barre instructor. Melissa strives for a positive hardworking environment in her classrooms and wants each dancer to be their best.
